A client asked us the importance of creating a digital presence for the company.

‘’It’s going good as is, work is getting done, why should we bother with investing in a website and consequently spending time on updating it as well?’’

Here’s why a digital presence can prove to be pivotal for your company:

Awareness: What is the first thing you do when you require something? You Google it.

To a consumer who is hearing about your brand for the first time, the next step will be Googling the name of the company. These are a few things a potential consumer will look for:

  • A website
  • A social media page — Facebook/Instagram/etc
  • Google Information

Based on the options available, the consumer will go through their buyer journey. If your brand does not have any of the above, the search for your company will result in related results thereby squashing a potential lead even before it became one.

Authenticity: A consumer no longer deems a brand without a digital presence to be ‘’authentic’’. What does this mean for your brand? You might have a brick and mortar establishment but unless there is some proof of your company’s existence in the digital world, the consumer is not going to place their trust in your brand.

Attention: According to a study by Forbes, ‘’Presenting a brand consistently across all platforms can increase revenue by up to 23%’’.

One of the major reasons behind companies investing in social media today is a way to remind the consumer of their presence. Consistently popping up on the feed be it through organic or targeted marketing is an effective way of staying present in front of the consumer. This way, when the time comes to purchase, the consumer’s mind will go to your brand and voila! Your lead turns into a conversion.

Analytics: One of the most powerful and useful tools available at your disposal. Digital Analytics lets you know your customer on a personal level with various touch points. The insights gathered by analytics can be very useful in decision making and improving the consumer’s experience to optimal levels.

Feedback: Referrals are one of the most effective ways of increasing the goodwill of your company. Which in turn reflects in your revenue figures.

A digital identity can be 10x effective if executed with the right strategy. The power of genuine reviews/ratings and feedback in real time by your consumers is unmatched. And when these metrics are available on a digital platform for anyone to view, it increases the chances of a potential client making that decision to do business with you.

We hope you are able to take something valuable back from this blog. If you have an existing digital identity, keep working on updating it and optimizing it. And if you aren’t on the internet yet,

What are you waiting for?
